Badu Africa ⭐️

Only open until December 10th!

Over the past few years, SL builder, creator and travel enthusiast AshaRia has developed a series of pop up style destinations that exist for a few weeks,. and then get taken down again.

Over the past year, I’ve been to 'Sweden', 'Italy', 'Madagascar', and now she's built an incredibly ambitious multi-sim Africa experience. Unfortunately you only have until 10 December to go and see or go and stay.

Badu Africa consists of 'Congo', 'Kenya', 'Egypt' and 'Angola' (or rather Mussulo Island).

Note that while Egypt is open to the public from today, the other sims are only open from 6-10 Dec, unless you rent.

The different sims

Out of the four Africa experiences, we rated Congo as our favourite. The landscaping is also incredibly well done, and the canoe ride past the hippos is a highlight.

Egypt has both a desert area, a resort with a large pool and the pyramids. Going underneath the pyramids involves being given a torch and exploring a labyrinth of corridors with hieroglyphs.

Angola has more of a standard beach resort feel, while Kenya offers a safari experience with animals similar to what you will find at the Kidaka Resort.

The rooms

Congo, Egypt and Kenya all have what can best be described as 'pods' wiith a slightly different design for each. These have a bedroom, with a bathroom at the back, a patio, and in the case of 'Congo' some pretty amazing views.

Angola however has luxury beach villas. Ours had several bedrooms, and would have easily houses a group of friends.

Things to do

Each sim has a restaurant, most have small pools - in the case of Egypt a large pool. Congo and Angola have zip wires and hang gliders. Angola also has surf boards you can rez on the beach.

Finally, the management are quite active in sending out notes for excursions and tours, there was one going on every night we were there.

Other considerations

'Check in' involves taking a flight to Second Norway, tp-ing to a platform and then having a helicopter ride to your destination.

There are villas / bungalows on each sim, specify in the booking which Africa experience you want.

You can rez with a group tag

Costs are US$14 a night for a couple, you pay via PayPal on booking

Conclusion

The group tag gives you the ability to travel between the different sims, so think of this as several African vacations in one.

However, if you want to visit, you only have a very short window, AshaRia is only opening the sims up to the public from 6-10 December, before she takes it down and works on her next venture.

Highly recommended - especially the Congo sim.
