Motels of the Mainland - The Strawberry Motel
If you travel around the mainland you’ll come across a fair few Motels. Some are abandoned, but others are in working order with furnished rooms. They are also largely free. As a result, this is the first in a series about ‘Motels of the Mainland’, starting with the Strawberry Motel.
Overview
The Strawberry Motel is on Jeogeot, off a main road (‘The shortcut’). It’s part of a small rest stop that also has a gas station and a diner.
I’ve seen lots of Motels in Second Life, this is easily one of the better ones. A great deal of thought seems to have gone into the look and feel, it’s actually quite well designed.
The Rooms
There are four rooms, with the ones on the lower floor having kitchenettes.
Each room has a pretty high quality adult bed. For example one has a cumming soon bed, another has one from Dutchie, while the other two feature beds from Ruckus and Rawage. As a result if the Motel is empty, you have a selection to choose from.
The decor features 1950s style movie posters, which you also find in the office. The rooms themselves have no bathrooms, there’s a communal shower on the top floor.
Facilities
Along with the gas station, there’s an outdoor pool…well, sort of, it’s a Killers Summer Farm Pool Truck.
Then there is the diner, which is big and has an authentic feel about it. It also includes a game / arcade area in the corner.
Other considerations
The rooms are free
You can rez here! I rezzed poses, as well as a car. That means you could start a mainland tour from the Motel
Of course, the general area is moderate, but as mentioned there is adult furniture inside the rooms
Lag wasn’t too bad for me
Overall
There’s a lot to like about the Strawberry Motel. Free rooms with high quality beds, the ability to rez and a pretty good overall design. Definitely worth checking out.
