Beyond Mainland Chaos: Exploring the Seaside Elegance of New Deer Isle

Introduction

Nestled within the expansive landscape of SL Norway, New Deer Isle Motel is another creative project from Kaiden and Pandora Tray, better known for the NYC-themed Wandering New York

Unlike much of the clutter you see on the mainland, New Deer Isle offers a meticulously planned and themed coastal town experience, reminiscent of a small New England retreat.

Crafting a seaside haven

Pandora told me that the vision behind New Deer Isle was born out of their love for living on the Blake Sea/Norway, an experience they wanted to share with others.

Their goal was to create a tranquil community, offering residents and visitors the chance to escape the chaos of typical mainland landscapes in a more carefully curated environment.

As a result the town exudes a consistent and pleasing aesthetic. Visitors are greeted by well-thought-out planning and a peaceful atmosphere.

The town itself consists of a main street, a Motel, and a residential area with longer term rentals.

The New Deer Isle Motel

At the end of the main street, you’ll find the New Deer Isle Motel.

The Motel boasts a reception area, simple but inviting rooms at 350L a night, and a scenic dock.

The rooms feature a bedroom/sitting area and a well-appointed bathroom, something often overlooked by other Motels.

Furniture is of a generally high quality, my room had a Ruckus Shower, Infinite Jackson Sofa, and Infinite Jackson Bed.

I can think of two reasons why you might want to stay at the Motel:

1 - Take a short Blake Sea break.  Renting a Motel room allows you to rez a a boat at the dock, or a car in town

2 - You could use it to ‘try before you buy’, in other words, before you commit to a longer term rental.  I should mention that these were all booked when I was there

Things to do

You can use the Motel as an exploration base.  Either rez a boat at the dock and explore the wider Blake Sea, or rez a car and drive around SL Norway. The town also has an Irish pub (a nice place to meet friends), a cafe and a bakery.

Note that as you are on the Mainland, adult activity needs to be confined to the room.

In Conclusion

Whether you're seeking a brief escape, considering a more extended stay, or simply just passing through, New Deer Isle is worth checking out. It’s pleasant, high quality, immersive and very well designed.
