I'm a huge SL beach resort traveler so I was really excited to book the La Aqua Santo Domingo for this review.

Booking for La Aqua Santo Domingo was pretty straightforward.

I went to their Facebook Page and then clicked on their reservation link. To set up a reservation you fill out the information via Google Forms with your requested date, type of villa (I opted for Casa Amigos) and add-ons. Once you've submitted your information you are contacted in-world to pay no later than 2 days before your stay.

I stayed for a day with a 4 of my friends and had a really great time exploring the sim as well as the activities you could do.

Overall look and feel

La Aqua Santo Domingo is one sim so while there is lots to do on the sim it does at times feel almost stuffed.

We were the only people on the sim during our stay so we had the entire sim to ourselves - I personally enjoy resorts with more activity so I don't know if maybe it's just because they are new or if people haven't heard of them yet.

The resort has a tropical feel and as the name suggests is inspired by Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

They offer two types of villas - either for a couple or 1 villa for a large group of family/friends.

They have an incredibly large pool as well as waterslides (which were actually really cute and fun) as well as bars and an area for yoga.

As La Aqua Santo Domingo is a closed sim, check in is done with the staff. I opted for the late check-in at 6pm SLT which worked nicely with my RL schedule. You can also request an early check-in (8am - 10am SLT) which is great for guests internationally.

A really nice touch I loved was getting in the horse drawn carriage and getting a tour of the resort before being dropped off at our villa.

Overall - 4/5

The rooms

There are two different types os rooms - Casa Alpha at $L2500 per night or Casa Amigos at $L5000 per night.

We stayed at the Casa Amigos villa (5000L) which was waterfront with 4 bedrooms and perfect for a large group of friends or multiple couples.

The villa was parcelled so there was privacy, it was well decorated and you also had a view to the main pool. As the villa was on the edge of the sim there was no direct water access but they landscaped it nicely to give it a waterfront view.

Most of the villas on the resort are the smaller ones (Casa Alpha) which we didn't stay in but would recommend staying at the Casa Amigos villa if you go with friends.

Overall - 4.5/5

The facilities

At the resort there were many cute little activities to do like enjoying the pool, checking out the smoke shop or exploring the market.

There are also various RP activities you can do which are booked during your initial booking. There is a gorgeous RP restaurant, yoga class, and bumper soccer. We ended up taking the yoga class.

Our yoga class was at the main pool in the center island and was really relaxing. The instructor was fun and the calm music played during the class really did make me feel like taking a nap (in a good way).

Afterwards we decided to hang out at the pool and get silly with the waterslides. Aside from a really fun resort pool there is a smoke shop connected to the pool bar to try out.

It would of been nice to have the option to self serve for the restaurant since not everyone can do RP dinners at the window they have.

Overall - 4/5

The animations

While I didn't get a chance to test out the animations on the bed - I did enjoy the bathtub in the villa but it only had MF sex options. Most of the furniture in the villa required very little adjustment with the poses and the outdoor loungers were a cute touch. There are also sex anims at the public areas such as the main pool, bar and mini beach.

Overall - 4/5

Other considerations

  • Check-in - Because this is a closed resort - you have to ensure you have the full names of everyone you want to add to the reservation during booking. If you want to add someone after (regardless if you've used your allotted number of guests) you have to pay $L 500 per guest.

  • Privacy - While there are no security orbs for the villas, they are parcelled so someone can't cam in.

  • Lag - Running on my 2022 MacBook Pro on Ultra there was little to no lag. But there was also nobody on the sim aside from our group so that may change as more people start coming.

  • Adult - The resort is an adult sim so there are many adult features and anims in the villas as well as around the public areas of the resort.

Overall - Recommended

The feel, landscaping, and facilities make this for a wonderful resort to check out. I hope they can make more self-serve options or create a website to make it easier for guests to visually see what it is they are booking for.
