Review - The Baxton Motel
This is the latest in my series of Second Life Motels. As mentioned in my previous reviews, these are generally shorter than the standard hotel write-ups, given that there are not as many facilities.
Summary
Built on a sky platform, the Baxton Motel works on a membership basis at 100L a year. Come and go as you please, rez stuff and use the rooms.
The Baxton Hotel is quite basic, but if all you want is a home location that's a step up from one of the free public places, this may be for you. Otherwise, if you are actually looking for a Motel, there are better alternatives.
The basics
Access to the hotel is for group members, pay 100L a year. You then have access to the building, which includes the Motel building, two cafes (one has a greedy table), a hot tub, and a tp point to two private skyboxes.
The rooms
There are a dozen or so rooms in the Motel building, half seem to be furnished.
The furniture is quite basic, a dated looking living room and kitchen, and an area which has a Rawage bed. No bathroom.
It seems like anyone can use any of the rooms, there is no privacy. If that's what you want, you need to go to one of the two Skyboxes. These are free, and can be reserved for up to several hours.
Conclusion
Things I liked
It's a cheap place, where for 100L a year you can come and go as you like and use as a base
It's adult and semi-private
The outside is quite Motel like and does not look too bad
Things I didn't like
The rooms are quite bare, if using it as a home location isn't important to you, I recommend the Sunrise Motel instead
