The Overlook at Cha
The Overlook at Cha isn't so much a hotel of the kind that I normally visit, but more of a hotel themed experience.
As a result, this isn't a normal review (it wouldn't be fair, as you are not comparing like with like), but a mini-article introducing the concept to you, and of course providing the SLURL for you to visit.
Harper Lexington, who as well as being an incredible photographer is another member of the Attention SL team, came with me and appears in these pictures.
The theme
The Overlook draws inspiration from a very icoinic Hollywood film, I won't spoil it to say which one, go and visit yourself to see if you can guess.
However, the first thing I thought of was actually different.
The public areas are incredibly ornate with gold decorations. I thought of the pictures I'd seen of the inside of the Kremlin (and many European state houses and palaces are the same).
The facilities
You approach the Overlook via a road, the scene is winter, with snow. The main building has a reception, and to the left a number of public reception rooms decked out in gold.
To the right you have a much more gloomy looking bar and lounge.
An elevator takes you up to two storeys of rooms, though only one room is operational.
That's room 337, which is quite spartan (delibaretely so, keeping with the film theme), but it does include a Trompe Loeil - Cobble Hill Bed, with PG anims, and bathrooms.
Note, overall this is a moderate location, so if you want adult activity, you are in the wrong place.
Overall
Despite being very different to the places I normally visit, I liked it here. There's a clear appeal to RPers (there were a group there when we went to visit), but even otherwise I think it's an excellent build and a good photo spot.
Julia Trouble the owner was kind enough to give me rez rights for poses, but I'd recommend setting up a rez group (for which you could charge a nominal amount) to allow others to do so.
