Badu Maldives Review ⭐️

Destination builder and virtual travel expert AshaRhia launched an innovative project earlier this year, creating several pop-up destinations each month. These locations remain open for just a few weeks before being taken down.

Utah, Botswana (a personal favourite), Turkey, and an Avatar-inspired destination have been among the diverse offerings. Most of these operate on a pre-booking basis, requiring visitors to reserve in advance. For upcoming destinations, interested travellers should consult Asha's website.

For the summer season, Asha has now made a number of destinations openly accessible to all visitors. These include the Turks and Caicos Islands and the Maldives, which I recently explored. The result is a beautifully designed, sunny tropical escape, with villas available for rent at 1500L per night.

Overall look and feel

Upon arrival at Badu Maldives, visitors are greeted by a welcoming bar and swimming pool. This initial impression sets the tone, as Asha's signature resort pools are a hallmark of her designs.

A winding path guides guests through lush tropical grounds featuring a pagoda-style structure, bar, and restaurant. Naturally, a pristine beach is present, along with another of AshaRhia's signatures: a giant water slide plunging into the sea.

The landscaping is thoughtfully executed, creating an inviting atmosphere perfect for relaxation and photography.

Accommodation

The villas, priced at 1500L per night, offer stunning sea views and can be rented directly on-site. These open-plan accommodations feature one side completely exposed to the water. It's worth noting that the bathroom is integrated into the main room, so privacy may be limited. However, this design choice enhances the immersive tropical experience.

The furnishings, sourced from Bazar, are of good quality. While such an exposed layout might not appeal to everyone in RL, it works well in Second Life. The front porch provides an unobstructed view of the sea, creating a truly captivating experience.

Amenities and Activities

Badu Maldives shines in its range of facilities. There's a dedicated games room for gaming enthusiasts. Sports lovers can enjoy the volleyball court, while adventure seekers can take advantage of watersports facilities and the giant water slide.

The restaurant and bar are well-designed, complementing the resort's overall aesthetic. As mentioned earlier, the pool remains a standout feature of the destination.

Additional Information

- Villa rental cost: 1500L per night

- Badu Maldives is designated as a moderate sim, limiting adult activities to private rooms

- No significant lag issues were encountered during the visit

Conclusion

Badu Maldives serves as an excellent introduction to AshaRhia's portfolio of destinations. Its picturesque setting and vibrant summer atmosphere create a great tropical getaway. Whether you're looking to lounge by the pool, engage in activities, or capture stunning photographs, this destination comes highly recommended.
