Review Policy

Since 2020, the SL Hotel Inspector website has been exploring Second Life’s hotels, resorts, and occasional oddities, with one simple aim: to help you make better choices about where to visit and stay.

All reviews are independent and unpaid. There are no free stays, sponsorships, or hidden nudges. Occasionally, an upgrade is offered, but it’s never expected and never changes what’s written.

What to Expect

  • Fair reviews: We try to balance the good with the not-so-good. Creating a destination involves time, effort and often money. Even when something’s not working, the aim is to be constructive, not cruel.

  • Real value checks: A place charging L$300 a night is judged differently from one charging L$3,000. We keep that context in mind, especially for people who don’t have Ls to burn.

  • Performance matters: Not everyone has a gaming PC. Lag and glitches are part of the experience, too.

  • We report things as we see them. Reviews reflect the guest experience, not a curated preview. Just like in RL, good or bad experiences are reported as they are when we’re there.

  • RP included: If roleplay is part of the hotel offering, we will do our best to try it. But the final verdict also considers the build, design, pricing, and vibe. Not everyone wants the same thing; that’s fine.

The Bottom Line

  • No one pays for a good review, and no review is guaranteed. The goal is to be fair, thoughtful, and accurate. The real test of a venue isn’t perfection; it’s how it responds to feedback.
