Cheri Noel ⭐️
Only open for December!
Cheri Noel, which has returned for a second year, was one of my Christmas picks for 2020 and is so again this year.
Despite it only being open for December, I thought it was worth doing a longer review on it. Note that like other seasonal vacation experiences, I’ve not reviewed this quite in the same way as I would a hotel or resort.
However in summary, I think it stands out amongst other Festive sims for the level of detail, the scale and the creativity.
Also, unlike some of the other Festive experiences I have featured, Cheri Noel is geared up for families as well as adult couples.
Finally, Cheri Noel comes from one of my favourite sim owners, I also recommend checking out her Kiyori urban sims (featuring the Takai Hotel and the Eroyado Love Hotel), as well as Little Santorini.
Overall look and feel
Cheri Noel is loosely based on Strasbourg, the French-Alsatian city, which is on the border with Germany (and which was part of Germany 1870-1918).
As a result, Alsace has strong Germanic influences and so Jasmine has divided Cheri Noel into German and French themed area.
Both areas contain small shops, little alleyways, cafes, and a series of houses to rent airbnb style.
There are also two Christmas markets, one which serves as a venue for periodic live music events.
Finally residents can take advantage of a clubhouse style facility.
The rooms
Rather than rooms, there are airbnb style houses spread around the sim. These start at 1295L.
Note that Jasmine has houses which are geared towards families, and have mainly PG furniture and ones that are geared towards couples with adult options. Check in the main rental office to make sure you get the one that is right for you.
However, the biggest and most expensive place to rent is Le Chateau de Noel. This costs 4495L a night but is basically a full castle and that price gives you 800 prims. Hence you could go with a group and throw a party.
The facilities
There are a lot of little shops around both the French and German areas. They are nice to walk into, and also make for good photo spots.
As mentioned, there are two Christmas markets, one of which hosts live events.
Finally, the clubhouse (mansion) for residents has a restaurant, wine bar, ballroom and an adults only burlesque club.
Other considerations
The overall experience is moderate and I know Jasmine Kiyori has taken great care to make it family friendly. There are adult anims in some of the houses if you go as a couple, but make sure you rent the right one.
I found a little bit of lag, this is quite a detailed build with constant falling snow.
Cheri Noel will vanish on 1 January, so if you want to stay you need to go now.
In summary
This was one of my favourite Christmas experiences last year and is so again. As in all of Jasmine’s sims the houses are beautifully decorated, and suit couples, families or groups (depending on which you rent). Even if you don’t stay there, and I recommend you do, it’s definitely worth a visit.
