No Excuses! Motel

This is one a series of Second Life Motel reviews, from which I hope to (eventually!) produce a guide to the best SL Motels. Because the features and facilities are quite different to standard Second Life resorts, these reviews are a little shorter than normal, and I don't grade them in the same way.

Summary

The No Excuses! sim includes a Motel, with some basic but still pretty good free rooms. No Excuses! as a whole is definitely worth exploring. Calling itself a "rustic evergreen-topped mountainous coastal retreat", it's beautifully put together and includes a beach, roller coaster and mountain caves, among other things.

I recommend both the Motel, and No Excuses! itself as an excellent photo and exploration spot.

About the Motel

The Motel sits in front of a dockside waterway, with cranes on the other side. It has eight rooms, all free. All have Dutchie (so adult) beds, and actual bathrooms (WC and sink, no bath) - I always think full marks to any free place that has this.

Then each of the eight units has a kitchen, and a little dining area in the corner.

The decor is pretty simple, but it's in keeping with how a Motel like this would work in RL. Overall I liked it a lot,

The facilities

I won't say too much about the wider region, as this isn't a destination blog as such, suffice to say I think you should go and visit and explore. The Flickr group will give you a much better idea of what's on offer.

However right next door to the Motel, you'll find a cafe, a juice bar and a restaurant situated in a stationary railway carriage.

Other considerations

Is it adult? Yes

Lag - Wasn't too bad for me, I run SL on a 2019 Macbook Pro

Privacy - With the rooms being free, obviously not

Prices - Free

Overall

Highly recommended, and it will certainly make my ‘best Motels of SL’ list. Visit the wider No Excuses! experience and stay the night in the free Motel.
