Overview
True North's Ahi Cove Resort is a Hawaiian-themed destination built and operated by Lucy Drake and Cade Lockwood, a pair with a roleplay background who launched the resort in late February 2026 under their True North Event Co. brand. The resort occupies a full region and offers staffed check-ins, keycard room access, a Hawaiian dinner service, and a programme of guided activities alongside the usual resort amenities.
Maya & I stayed for three nights - originally booked for two, but we extended - and came away impressed by both the build quality and the level of service. True North's tagline is "details matter," and that ethos comes through in nearly everything here, from the branded keycards to the scripted weather system.
Design and Layout
The resort is well landscaped, with sandy beaches, volcanic rock formations, palm-lined paths, and a central hotel building that houses multiple floors of suites. From ground level the hotel reads as a convincing multi-storey structure, and the rooms inside are properly furnished with balconies overlooking the gardens. The grounds include a beach area with thatched parasols, a pool, and pathways connecting the various villa locations around the island's perimeter.
A lazy river winds through the property and passes through an underwater aquarium section - we floated through it before dinner, and it turned out to be an unexpectedly relaxing twenty minutes. It is a smart use of the sim's vertical space and one of those features that is easy to miss if you do not explore.
The diving reef, not yet widely advertised, is available on request and included in the stay. A dynamic weather system runs across the region - we experienced shifting skies and incoming rain, and other guests reported tidal waves the previous day. It adds atmosphere, though it is still being calibrated.
Villas and Rooms
Ahi Cove offers four accommodation types. The Golden Tiki Villas (where we stayed) are adults-only, privately parcelled units with floor-to-ceiling ocean views, a carved bamboo-framed headboard with a feature fireplace, tropical wallpaper, a globe drinks cabinet, and a private lanai with sun loungers.
The Kona Kai Suites and Maluhia family suite sit within the hotel building, with balcony access and PG furnishings. There is also a Hoku Suite for solo travellers, priced to avoid the double-occupancy charge that penalises singles at many other resorts.
Our villa felt considered rather than assembled. Small details such as a fruit platter, linen curtains, woven rugs, the champagne and roses gave it the feel of a room someone had actually dressed rather than simply furnished. Cade built a keycard system for the unparceled suites, which issues a branded card and grants access via scripted doors.
Pricing: Golden Tiki Villas from L$1,000–1,250/night per guest (depending on ocean or garden view). Kona Kai and Maluhia suites from L$800–850/night per guest. Hoku solo suite L$900/night. Day passes are available.
Dining
The standout experience of our stay was the private dinner at the Ahi Grill. When booking, Lucy offered us a choice between a standard RP dinner service and what she called the "shenanigans" option. We chose the latter without knowing what it involved.
The evening began conventionally enough. Ryan, the hostess, escorted us to our table. Lindsey, our server, walked us through the Hawaiian menu and took our orders on a tablet. Then the busser, Amari, tripped on a step and sent a tray of water glasses crashing to the floor.
Complimentary wine appeared. Courses arrived on schedule. And then the seagulls moved in - scripted gulls that pecked at the plates, stole food, and eventually left deposits across the table. A cleaner named Jeannie arrived with a mop and tropical-scented Fabuloso. Amari slipped on the wet floor on his way out.
The whole thing was well-timed and played completely straight by every member of staff, which is what made it work. It lasted about an hour and a half, with four staff rotating through the scene. Given that the resort had been open less than a week when we were there, the coordination was notable.
Other Factors
Lag: Not a big problem. The sim ran smoothly throughout.
Activity scheduling and customer service: A friend who was staying at the same time mentioned that some announced activities did not run to their published times or were rescheduled. These things can happen, and when she raised it, she was given an extra night free. This is a good response, and she later messaged me that based on that, her rating of the resort was now ‘5/5’.
Staff and responsiveness: Lucy was easy to reach over IM throughout the booking and stay. Our extension was handled in minutes. She also proactively sent us room links when she spotted us exploring the sim.
Summary
Ahi Cove is a strong new entry in SL's resort scene. The build is attractive and well thought out; the villa interiors are among the best-dressed I have seen at this price point; and the roleplay dinner service is genuinely different - staffed, scripted, and delivered with commitment. Lucy and Cade have clearly put in a great deal of work, and their RP background shows in the quality of the guest interactions.
There are minor early-stage wrinkles, but these feel like things that will settle quickly, given how responsive the owners have already shown themselves to be.
If you want a resort that takes both the hospitality and the roleplay seriously, and does not treat one as decoration for the other, Ahi Cove is well worth a visit.
Highly recommended.
