Review - Amour Paris
(This has now closed but Lush Tulum remains open)
Amour Paris is a new vacation experience from the owner of Lush Tulum, a Mexican themed beach resort I rate highly.
My friend and collaborator Angel Poison were among the first to stay here, renting one of the apartments, the 'Loft de Coeur.'
Our impressions and the review is as follows:
Introduction
Amour Paris reminded me a lot of Winter in New York, a NYC themed destination that was open last November to March.
Apartments are dotted around a sim that has a Paris theme and that you can explore. While the centre piece of Winter in New York was Central Park, here it's an Eiffel Towerr replica.
Note that Amour Paris is a closed resort. You need to pre-book online and you get your group tag on check-in.
Overall look and feel
Amour Paris consists of several city streets with shops, a spa and places to eat and drink, as mentioned the Eiffel Tower, and a vineyard.
The park area around the Eiffel Tower was very pretty. The landscaping is nicely done, and it has a romantic feel about it, which would of course have been the aim.
For us, this was definitely a highlight.
However I wondered about the vineyard, which seemed random. Yes it fits with France but not Paris as such. I wonder if it would have been better to use the space with something else Paris themed.?
Having said that, it does allow the owner to offer grape pressing RP, which I know is popular.

The rooms
As mentioned, we stayed in the 'Loft de Coeur', which costs 2200L per night.
This was one of the standard price apartments, prices go up to 3000L for the penthouse, which is marketed for honeymooners.
Even so, our apartment was across three levels with a living room / dining room on the ground floor, a bedroom and large bathrroom aboe that, and then a roof terrace.
The roof terrace was definitely our favourite as it included Eiffel Tower views, and had both champagne on tap and a hot tub.
Overall - 4.5 / 5
The animations
Amour de Paris itself is moderate but in practice, much of it has adult animations including in the spa.
The apartments do as well of course, with an RW Hot tub on the roof, an N4RS Famous Sofa in the living room, and a Fourth Wall Facade bed in the bedroom.
Overall it was nice to see something different than the default Ruckus or Rawage options you see in most places.

The facilities
We didn't eat at the restaurant, but we did visit. There are in fact two, one which is open to visit and another one for private dining, both on the Eiffel Tower.
These were both really nicely designed.
We did however book a spa session, and found what we thought were a few opening week teething problems.
The staff were welcoming, but a few RP elements were definitely missing.
The owner has assured me that this is being looked at, and I've had good experiences at her other resort (Lush Tulum), so by the time you book hopefully it will be resolved.
We also wondered about the layout of the spa itself. The massage tables were arranged against the window overlooking the street, perhaps reversing the layout so the massage tables are at the back may be better.

Other considerations
When checking in, you get tp-ed into a metro station, you are then checked in and given a notecard with LMs and key information
Check in is at 5pm SLT, but the owner is amenable for early check in if (like us) you are in Europe
You can rez photo pose props and so on throughout the sim with the group tag
Villas start at 2200, and need to be pre-booked via the site

The landscaping
The area around the Eiffel Tower, which was pretty
The Eiffel Tower itself
Our apartment, which was beautifully designed
The roof terrace, which we loved
Things we didn't like
The spa. As mentioned we found a few small issues, but these are being resolved
This is a new place, and a few small things were obviously unfinished
We both encountered lag as this is a very detailed build
Overall recommended, especially for couples on a romantic break.
