Review - Sea Horizon Hotel

The Sea Horizon is a small hotel with twelve rooms and a pool. I came across it while doing one of my regular hotel searches in the SL directory, and decided to take a look, renting a room.

Though I wouldn’t class it as a vacation place, as it is simple with limited facilities, the rooms themselves are quite nicely done and there is a fairly large pool. As a result, this could be an option if you want to base yourself somewhere temporarily.

Overall look and feel

The Sea Horizon consists of twelve rooms spread across three floors, a public area that includes the reception with a small cafe, and a swimming pool. The hotel itself is in a box type structure.

Despite the name, there’s no access to sailable sims, though the Sea Horizons is surrounded by sea.

There is a small beach out front, but strangely no beach furniture.

The overall look and feel is quite simple, though I wouldn’t call it dated.

Overall - 2.5 / 5

The rooms

At 400L a week, the rooms are actually quite nice, albeit quite compact. Each appears to be individually designed, and includes a bedroom, a terrace with a sitting area and a bathroom.

There is different artwork in each of the rooms, and the overall look and feel of each room is pleasant.

Overall - 3.5 / 5

The facilities

This is very much a self service place, there is no RP on offer. There’s a cafe and sitting area inside, and the pool outside. The pool has loungers surrounding it, as well as a small bar.

The pool terrace also has a hot tub on the side.

The inside seating area includes a pool table, which is adult.

Overall - 3 / 5

Animations

This hotel is definitely adult, with furniture in both the bedrooms and public areas having 18+ animations. Having said that, the restaurant has toddler anims in the seats, and the contrast with the adult surroundings is a little jarring.

I guess if you come here with kids, just look around to see who else is there, though every time I went, it was empty.

The bed in my room was from Darkfold Legends, but the room next door had a Lalou Hardplay canopy bed, so the furniture seems to vary by room.

The bathroom had a Fancy Decor bath.

I couldn’t see any FF or MM options in the furniture in the bedrooms, but some of the furniture in the public areas does seem to have them.

Overall - 3 / 5

Other considerations

Is the hotel adult? Yes

Lag? I experienced very little

Cost - 400L a week

Privacy? The rooms do have orbs, yet the rooms are also all accessible from reception via a staircase, so you can cam in

Overall

A pleasant option if all you want is a nicely designed hotel room for a week or two. At the same time, the hotel is quite simple with not too much to do, which means it’s not a vacation spot. At the very least, I recommend the owners populate the beach area a bit more.
