Review: Seacloud Luxe Archipelago ⭐️
Seacloud, a new beach resort development from the creator of Sunset Sands, has been generating buzz among travellers. After several people urged me to go and check it out, Maya & I decided to book a stay and see for ourselves.
In summary, the experience more than lived up to expectations. Builder and owner CK has created a resort that feels like a place you'd want to visit in real life.
Overall Look and Feel
Unlike Sunset Sands on the mainland with Blake Sea access, Seacloud occupies a private region. Upon arrival at the reception desk, guests receive an information notecard and can check vacancies via a terminal or the resort's website.
The main area features a long pool flanked by poolside villas, reminiscent of high-end beach hotels in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern destinations. These villas are in high demand, often fully booked.
Beyond the pool area, an extensive beach offers additional accommodation options. The resort boasts numerous amenities, including bars and cafe areas, all connected by convenient teleport points.
Accommodation
Seacloud offers a range of options, from skyboxes at 150L per day to beachside cabins at 250L and larger villas with private areas at 650L.
The poolside villas ('Serene Deluxe') at 350L a day stand out. These villas face the pool on one side and the beach on the other. They include a bathroom, living room, bedroom with a Darkfold legends bed, roof terrace, beachside pavilion, and poolside area.
At 375L per day, these villas offer excellent value compared to similar accommodations in Second Life. They are also quite hard to come by, we had to wait a few days until one came free.
The larger villas meanwhile offer a more private location and a private helicopter and helipad - a really cute feature.
Facilities
The resort's amenities are extensive, including:
A large beach area with rezzable jetskis
Several eating and drinking areas (with RP dinner booking options)
A cinema
A tastefully designed games terrace. This in particular impressed me as many games areas can look a little garish and tacky
A giant water slide
Other Considerations
Service at Seacloud is noteworthy. Upon check-in, guests receive a welcome pack and a message from the owner. I experienced some minor lag on a Mac, but nothing significant. The room privacy and security systems functioned effectively during our stay. I’d finally recommend coming here using a PBR-enabled viewer - I’ve had better experiences using Alchemy over Firestorm.
Overall
Seacloud Luxe Archipelago stands out in the Second Life beach resort scene, offering a well-designed environment and high service levels. We loved it, so it comes highly recommended for those seeking a virtual getaway.
