Review-The VQ Hotel

Overall - Good for RP

My third visit to the VQ Hotel resulted in me being greeted by loud moaning echoing around the public areas.

Moaning is ambient noise in much of SL, so my first thought was that it must just be that. Until I started scanning around and saw a couple (one with the tag “Daddy’s Girl”) in the library not paying much attention to the books.

Now the thing about SL public voice is this.

Sometimes the quality is great, sometimes it is not so good. And it was the latter case here. For this listener it was like hearing two people having CB Radio Sex.

VQ as it turns out stands for “Voice Quickies.” The previous two times I was there, I’d seen a few blokes hopefully milling around the lobby, and I now see why.

In fact the friend I brought with me, told me she was hit upon five times in half an hour, so after that I decided to do this review on my own.

Why am I including it? Because the VQ Hotel has all the features of a hotel. It has a lobby, a bar, a restaurant, a library, a gym, and rooms you can rent at 100L a night.

The Overall Look and Feel

Bits of it look a bit dated, but they’ve done a good job with the lobby and the bar.

The Anims

The anims and RP are the whole point. Just about every piece of furniture has some kind of ‘adult’ functionality, down to the lobby sofas actually being lapdance chairs.

So, you are looking for plenty of options to play, well, fill your boots.

The facilities

No pool, but there is a gym with a locker / changing room (“Oops! I’ve dropped my towel!”).

The restaurant does a reasonable job of resembling an RL equivalent with dance balls.

As mentioned there’s an anim-packed library as well.

The rooms

There’s one type of room at 100L a night. But here’s the thing, you only need to pay if you want to rez stuff, use the security orb or have a base.

Otherwise the rooms are free to walk in and out of as you please. This I gather is a feature, and not a bug.

The rooms themselves though have a clean and modern look.

The best part of the rooms is the large “Garden of Earthly Delights’ painting by Hieronymus Bosch hanging over the bath.

Other things to consider:

Is the hotel adult? Is ice cold?

Privacy - LOL

Lag - Very little

Prices - Basically free, you can use any room. Or if you do want a bit of security and a place to base yourself, you pay a cheap as chips 100L a night

Overall

Look, l don’t think the owners of the VQ Hotel will take it as an insult when I say that this place is not for everyone.

It’s not a vacation or even a short break spot. Unless of course your vacations involve hot wifing or gang bangs, in which case it’s perfect.

However, if you love voice and are into a certain kind of RP in a hotel setting, you will have a lot of fun here.
