BOTTOM LINE: The Ritz's best incarnation yet - a full luxury estate experience with reasonable pricing and exceptional attention to detail.

Overall Look and Feel

This is still recognisably The Ritz SL, but it has a wealth of new features. Its latest incarnation might just be the most immersive yet.

The grounds are expansive, with an aesthetic that leans grand European château, softened by modern landscaping and playful touches. From the koi pond bearing the hotel’s name to clipped hedges and fountains, the setting evokes calm and care. Lighting has been handled particularly well, there’s a real sense of time passing here, a quality many builds lack.

The Ritz now covers two regions, not just one. Unlike in previous builds, the majority of areas are open for anyone to explore. Maya commented that it feels more like a small town with a hotel at its heart, and that’s right, it’s an all-around destination and experience rather than just a hotel.

You'll find the main hotel building and extensive grounds featuring a Versailles-style park, a pool, a mini golf course, an equestrian centre, the original Hitchcock’s Bar at reception (now remodelled), as well as a new outdoor Hitchcock’s wine bar in the gardens. Although it wasn’t yet operational during our visit, a railway has also been built to take visitors around the estate.

We were genuinely impressed by the exceptional attention to detail. This is clearly a labour of love for Vlad, and the amount of time it took to rebuild - including good use of PBR features - really shows.

The suites

The hotel now features four named suites, each distinct in tone and purpose:

The Raven Suite (300L per night)
A richly atmospheric room that lives up to its name. Dark tones, rich woods, and a framed excerpt of Poe’s The Raven set the mood. It includes a fireplace, intimate seating, and adult animations. The most budget-friendly option, but arguably the most characterful.

The Swan Suite (600L per night)
Airy and bright, with classic décor and access to a private outdoor hot tub and conservatory. Carried over from previous versions, it remains a favourite for those seeking traditional luxury.

The Savoir Vivre Suite (900L per night)
Our choice for this stay. The suite is modern, sculptural, and softly lit. Ideal for couples seeking something contemporary. The design is open-plan with clever use of light and glass, creating a sense of space and serenity. A perfect romantic getaway: effortlessly stylish without being overdesigned.

One particular highlight is the customisable lighting panel, which allows guests to choose different moods at the touch of a button, from soft champagne glows to deeper, more intimate night settings. It’s athoughtful touch that elevates the whole stay.

Maya also pointed out the beautifully intricate glass panelling on the doors, a design far more delicate and three-dimensional than typical stained glass in SL. This adds a soft, artistic feel to the suite. Together, the lighting and the glasswork create a seductive, quiet, grown-up atmosphere.

The Imperial Suite (1200L per night)
A two-bedroom apartment suitable for small groups or extended stays, with direct access to the grounds. Highlights include a private cave pool accessed via elevator.

All suites feature adult animations. Room pricing has been lowered significantly compared to previous versions, making a stay at The Ritz far more accessible than its reputation might suggest.

Vlad also mentioned that cottages in the grounds will soon be available for weekly rental. We had a peek. These are compact but nicely done, with a tasteful French country house feel.

There’s a terminal at reception allowing guests to browse and book available rentals.

Facilities

The Ritz offers an impressive range of amenities for guests looking to do more than simply lounge in luxury:

  • Hitchcock’s Bar now exists in two incarnations: the original Art Deco bar near reception, still one of the best bars in SL, in my view, and the more relaxed, outdoor wine bar in the grounds, which Maya particularly loved. Candlelit and intimate, it feels like something from a European summer film.

  • Restaurant Space (Coming Soon): Underneath Hitchcock’s is a new dining area intended for future RP dining experiences. Vlad is currently assembling a team to offer role-play dining services.

  • The Zodiac Ballroom is impressive with its celestial ceiling, dramatic lighting, and club-style layout, which makes it ideal for formal events or themed gatherings.

  • The Royal Rounds Mini Golf Course, tucked into the gardens, features MadPea elements. We liked this area very much.

  • The Swimming Pool Terrace features a diving board, sun loungers, and private cabanas with showers, much like a real luxury resort. We found the attention to realistic detail to be one of the major draws.

  • The Equestrian Centre and Stables with teegle horses that you can rez

  • The De Clisson Caves: The caves beneath The Ritz offer an underground adventure. According to Vlad’s backstory, these caves are tied to the 14th-century Breton noble family, the De Clissonss, a tale of love, betrayal, and revenge.

It’s worth noting that the spa and train system are still under development, and the art gallery near the main entrance is also a work in progress. However, what’s already in place feels polished and compelling.

There’s a clear intent to create not just a hotel, but a functioning estate , a place to stay, yes, but also to experience.

Other considerations

The Ritz has seen significant improvements in performance; lag is now noticeably better than in previous versions, and I found no problems with a second-generation (M2) Mac Mini, running graphics on very high.

Regular live music and singer events are held at Hitchcock’s; join the hotel’s Facebook group for updates.

Prices are now very reasonable compared to other SL luxury hotels, starting at just 300L per night.

Finally, note that the grounds are Moderate-rated, while the suites feature adult animations, much like in a real-world luxury hotel, a certain amount of decorum is expected in public areas.

Conclusion: Highly Recommended

The Ritz stands out not just for its scale or beauty, but for the care with which it has been rebuilt. This isn’t simply a build, it’s its own small world. Couples will find romance and intimacy here, while groups will enjoy the larger suites and shared spaces.

Tasteful without being stiff, luxurious without being cold, and imaginative without veering into kitsch, The Ritz is well worth a visit, or better yet, a stay.
