Motels of the Mainland - Privilege Motel

Next up in our series of Motels of the Mainland is the Privilege Motel, which like the Strawberry Motel that we covered earlier in the week, is on Jeogeot.

Overview

The Privilege Motel seems geared towards longer stays, there are furnished rooms downstairs for 175L a week, and unfurnished rooms upstairs for 150L, those come with 100 prims.

The first thing to talk about is the surroundings. It’s on a main road, and there’s a diner, gas station and truck park opposite. These are all pretty pleasant.

But it’s overshadowed by what looks like a club sitting on a very tall cliff. When I was there, there was also a skybox floating just above the road.

Finally, someone put a fireworks unit on the roof, that makes constant noise - it’s annoying, so you may want to turn the sound down if you visit, or mute it.

It’s sadly a consequence of the free for all you often encounter on the mainland, where something that’s quite nice is often beside one or more pretty hideous structures.

The next thing to talk about is the colour scheme. The Motel is mainly black and yellow, including the restaurant and bar. It’s a taste thing for sure, but it didn’t work for me, nor for Aria who came to take a look quickly while I was finishing this review.

The rooms

As mentioned, there are unfurnished rooms on the upper floor of the hotel, while the lower floor has furnished rooms for 175L a week. These have Black Nest beds in the bedroom and an adjoining bathroom.

The facilities

Unlike most SL Motels, the Privilege does have pretty extensive facilities. This includes a self service restaurant bar, complete with a French maid mesh figure who loiters around the entrance.

There’s also a pool, all in black, a sun lounger area and a netball court, where you can play games.

Other considerations

The mainland is of course moderate, but there is adult furniture in the rooms

Rooms are 175L a week if they are furnished, or 150L a week unfurnished

I was able to rez in the car park, there’s also a rez zone on the other side of the road

Overall

175 a week is pretty reasonable as far as rates go, but if that was my budget and I wanted to stay or live in a hotel or motel, I would choose somewhere like the Sunrise Motel (though this isn’t on the mainland). I just wasn’t a fan of the decor, or some of the surrrounding structures.

However, this might be somewhere to consider as a stopover if doing a mainland tour, especially as you can rez poses and also a car out front.
