Motels of the Mainland - The Varro Motel

This is the latest in an irregular series of reviews looking at mainland Motels.

The first thing to say is that Varro is a mainland Motel, but you can’t drive there as it’s on a sky platform, the SLURL is here.

As well as a Motel, it also seems to be a live events and theatre venue, hosting the Varro theatre group.

Finally, this is a gay friendly place with the rooms having MM animations. A lot of SL Motels and Hotels don’t cater for same sex couples, so this may be for you.

Overall look and feel

Like a lot of SL Motels, the Varro has an assortment of cars in the parking lot, a Motel office and five rooms in a single storey wooden bullding. There are however no other facilities, with the exception of a drinks vending machine in the corridor.

However, I did like the office, which was quite nicely designed with some retro 1950s style furniture.

Behind the office there’s a private space, where, well the picture above tells the story. Beware if you go for that particular room (Room 5) as you may end up being watched! Of course, you might consider this a positive.

The Rooms

The rooms are kitted out in such a way to give out the feeling that this place has seen better days. Wallpaper which is coming off, a cracked mirror, rusty bathroom fixtures and so on.

However it is free.

Like a lot of Motels, the set up is also quite basic with a bed, desk and chair. The rooms have bathrooms, which many SL Motels don’t, especially if they don’t charge

The Animations

The beds vary by room, so it is worth checking them out beforehand depending on what you are looking for. For example, Room Four has a Victorian Gay Bed while Room Three features a Rawage Bed. The bathrooms have DRD showers and WCs.

Other Considerations

Price - Free

Lag - Very little

Privacy - It’s free, so anyone can walk in, and Room Five has a window facing the office. However, it was empty both times I went to visit

Adult animations - In the rooms

Overall

It is quite basic, but you can see that the owner knows what he is doing in terms of design, as everything fits together. The standard of furniture is also quite high, based on the brands that were chosen. Finally, it’s free, and also gay friendly and so this might be somewhere you want to check out.
