Review - Singapore Resort
Overview
Lifestyle Inc recently opened a brand new Singapore-themed resort. As this is something a bit different to other places we’ve seen in SL, Aria and I were keen to take a look, so we booked ourselves in for three days.
Overall, though some of the layout seems a bit messy, we enjoyed many of the facilities on offer.

Singapore is a closed sim, you need to pre-book via their website, you then get a tag when you check-in.
Overall look and feel
I’ve been to the RL Singapore several times, and I can see that they’ve tried to recreate certain places like the Marina Bay Sands Hotel, and the Gardens by the Bay - a massive greenhouse type structure.
Here, Lifestyle Inc has done a decent job, especially given the limitations of Second Life.
The Marina Bay Sands recreation in particular was one of the highlights, complete with the rooftop infinity pool.
Some of the rest of the sim had a kind of amusement park feel about it, which in places made it feel a little messy and crowded. Personally, I wonder if rather than create different Singapore landmarks, they should have just concentrated on the Marina Sands - in SL less is often more.
A word also on check-in, like a lot of SL RP-focused resorts, you arrive at a mock airport terminal. We actually thought this was one of the better ones we’ve seen.
You then go through a “private plane” to Singapore itself where an automated taxi tour takes you to check-in.
Overall - 3.5 / 5
The rooms
Rooms range in price from 1500-5500, the latter is for a penthouse suite that can accommodate eight people and so is suitable for groups.
We stayed in a Garden Bay, Garden view suite. It had a balcony overlooking the rest of the gardens, and the view was certainly good.
For the rest of it, we’d say it was functional and comfortable but not overwhelming - it really depends how much time you intend to spend in the suite of course.
The suite had a bedroom, balcony, living area, kitchenette and small bathroom. I’d probably have taken out the kitchen (it’s not necessary really) and extended other areas of the room, like the bathroom.
Overall - 3 / 5
The facilities
There’s an extent list of RP activities on offer, these include:
A spa and the option of in-suite massage
Dinner at Nouri Restaurant (we did this) or the option of private dining
Dinner at the Sushi House
A clay pottery class
Entry to the Art and Science Museum (we did this)
A ‘sky high’ helicopter tour
Dinner at Nouri was good, a lot of thought had been put towards the menu creation, and the RP server knew what she was doing.
The Art and Science Museum includes four art installations, which we enjoyed. This costs 1000L per person, but we were able to just walk in. Are names added to the door when you pay, or can any guest just go in, which would defeat the purpose of charging extra.
We took a peek at the sushi restaurant, if we were to go again, we’d probably go here.
Overall - 4 /5
Animations
Our suite had the ubiquitous ‘Ruckus’ bed. We’re not fans, but as we’ve said in other reviews, we know from hotel owners that a lot of guests like it.
The dinner animations in the restaurant seemed to work quite well.
Overall - 3.5 / 5
Other considerations
Parts were laggy, Aria was really only able to use Black Dragon in the room, all the other pictures had to be done via Firestorm.
Because this is a closed resort, privacy is good, you will only see other guests and staff. The owners have not used ban lines in front of the suites, which can be unsightly, but just ask guests to respect each other’s privacy.
Overall
If coming here, choose one of the more expensive suites and spend time in the Marina Bay area. Also, have dinner in the Sushi restaurant and maybe choose the spa. If you do all that, you’ll probably have an enjoyable time here. Recommended.
