Review - Nordic Aire

Nordic Aire is an Airbnb concept from Interior Designers and events management company The Rookie Uncut. This is the first in what will be a series of different destination concepts, that will fall under the brand ‘Rookie Destinations.’

Aria and myself went to stay shortly after it opened. It’s quite intimate and very suited to couples, so it may be somewhere you want to take your significant other for Valentine’s Day, or indeed on any date occasion for one night.

Website for more information and bookings. Note you can book and pay yourself via the rental meter, this is not a closed RP resort.

Overall look and design

The first thing to know is that each Airbnb (there are two) is in quite a compact space - basically you are on a sky platform. On the platform itself you will then find a modern igloo type structure on three levels, and a small snowy outdoor area with reindeer walking around. There’s also a sauna outside.

It’s really nicely done, with a lot of attention to detail, though you will be able to walk aroind the main igloo / villa structure in 30 seconds. As a result, the focus ofNordic Aire really is the accomodation irself.

Overall - 3/5

The room

As mentioned, the room is a kind of igloo / snow globe type unit but on three floors. There’s a large bathroom on the lower level, this is a definite highlight of the whole experience. The middle (ground) level has a bedroom, and there’s a living room with a working TV on the top floor.

You can see that everything was put together by professional designers, as a lot of thought has gone into the furniture choices, decor and colour scheme.

Overall - 4.5 / 5

The facilities

As this isn’t really a resort, it probably isn’t fair to talk about facilities. However, there is a sauna outside.

Animations

The bed uses a Cumming Soon engine, something you don’t see all too often, but we think it is one of the best there is (it’s actually what we have at home). The sauna outside is from Trompe Loeil, and there’s living room and dining room furniture from Zaker.

Overall - 4 / 5

Other considerations

Adult - Yes, and it’s completely private anyway

Privacy - You are on a sky platform, so no fear of prying eyes

Cost - 1800L. That’s comparitvely expensive in SL Hotel terms, bearing in mind it’s an Airbnb and not a hotel or resort.

Overall

We stayed for two nights, but one is probably enough. However, if you are looking to take someone special to somewhere that is really well decorated and completely private, Nordic Aire may be for you - recommended.
