Introduction

Seacloud Canada is the newest creation from Mharieckit Carolina (CK), who owns Seacloud Properties. Seacloud’s ‘Luxe Archipelago’ beach resort was already one of our favourites before closing for the winter season.

CK has a distinct approach: she builds destinations with a clear sense of movement, layout and user flow, and she remains present during launch periods, answering questions and adjusting systems as guests arrive.

This new mountain resort follows the same philosophy, but applies it in a very different landscape.

Layout and How to Get Around

You arrive at a kind of bus stop, at which point you get on board a shuttle bus, which will take you to the main resort office, which also has a cafe/bar attached.

After that, you will see the region is separated into three zones, each with its own transport mode and purpose:

1 - Main Resort Area

The main accommodation options are located here: Everlove, Amberkiss, Maplewood Luxe, Glacierheart, and the Seacloud Office. Guests arrive by automated shuttle bus, which also serves as the navigation system. Renting is done at your cabin’s terminal, and adding partners to the rental is supported. I was able to add Maya with no difficulties.

2 - Moraine Lake

A short shuttle ride leads to a forest trail opening onto the lake. Here you’ll find a canoe rezzer, an outdoor cinema screen, and soon-to-open campground rentals priced at L$200–250/day.

The lake was easily our favourite part of the resort; it is beautifully done and warrants further exploration.

3 - The Mountain

The Banff Gondola goes here. At the top are several platforms: DreamCafé, Sulphur Deck, Sky Bistro, and Sky Terrace. The gondola ride is enjoyable and sets expectations for the summit. The venues themselves are functional but unfinished - it is worth noting that CK was adding elements during our visit, so guests should expect this area to evolve.

Note that public spaces are open to everyone. Anyone can ride the gondola, visit the lake, and explore the trails. Only the cabins, dining reservations and campground rentals require payment. CK confirmed this policy directly.

The resort uses backdrop scenes, in this case, mountain ranges. Usually, I am not a fan of these (especially the Mediterranean mountain village scenes that are pretty common in SL), as they often look artificial, but the backdrops here really work.

Another thing, there are a fair number of mesh people about - they are easy enough to derender if you don’t like them.

Accommodation

Prices start at L$1,000/day for Everlove, a cabin designed for two - this is where we stayed. It includes a media system, privacy controls, a balcony and enough prim allowance for personal items. The house itself is quite compact, but spread across two floors with a pleasant balcony (upstairs and downstairs). Like other Seacloud properties, it’s very well designed and kitted out. The bed comes from Darkfold, a good choice.

Larger houses range from L$2,000–4,000/day and suit groups.

The campsite tier at Moraine Lake introduces a more affordable option:

L$200/day: smaller camping units

L$250/day: trailers

Moraine Lake

The strongest part of Seacloud Canada. The lake is a functioning activity zone with a route, a purpose, and a reason to stay longer than five minutes. The canoe (kayak) rezzer, the quiet seating areas and the outdoor cinema screen combine into an environment that supports couples, photographers, and groups. This is where the resort shows its potential most clearly.

The Mountain

The upper section is the opposite: ready for use, but still, at the time of writing, being worked on. The platforms are in place, and the gondola gives the ascent a sense of occasion, but the furnishing and atmosphere are still forming. CK was actively working on the details, literally on the roof, while we were there.

Future additions

As a result, it is worth noting the following:

  • The region is still in Autumn. CK told us the environment will switch to Winter on December 6.

  • Several features are scheduled to open in December, which will expand the resort beyond its launch setup.

  • A small souvenir shop is opening first, followed by skiing and ice skating on December 6, and then Banff Town on December 12.

  • RP services, such as dinner, will soon be available

These additions should give guests more reasons to return, and CK is also experimenting with interactive elements, including local-chat “Did You Know?” trivia, to encourage exploration.

There is no firm closing date for the resort; it will remain open into 2026 if bookings support it, with an earliest possible shutdown in early February, though it may continue into spring or summer if demand remains strong.

We will be posting a follow-up in mid-December once all the other elements have been added.

Other considerations

  • We had no real problems with lag

  • The resort is rated ‘moderate’, with adult-oriented options available in the cabins. So, just like an RL resort, you need to keep private things private.

  • Cabins start at 1000L a day, and the camping spots 200L, rent directly at the terminals.

Summary

Seacloud Canada is not a variation of the previous Seacloud resorts. It is a different experience with a different pace: cabins instead of villas, hikes instead of beaches, a gondola instead of jet skis.

What remains is the design discipline: spaces that make sense, and accommodations worth using. Props to owner CK, who seemed to be constantly on-site and made herself available to answer any questions.

The lake alone justifies the trip. The mountain will only get better. The cabins are of high quality and well-designed, with good furniture choices. The pricing tiers make sense; you don’t feel you are paying over the odds for what you get.
