BOTTOM LINE: Excellent attention to detail in authentic 1950s motel design. Popular with SL's creative community and consistently booked out.

Overall look and feel

The Camina Madre has two horseshoe type wings with a total of 18 rooms.  There’s also a playground, picnic area, outdoor pool, and a bar.

The majority of Second Life Motels are pretty sparse affairs, and so the Camina Madre already does much better in terms of having actual things to do.

The rooms

The rooms are pre-furnished and include a bedroom, bathroom and sitting area.  The overall presentation is great, with an authentic 1950s vibe about it.

However, Mother Road is quite popular among SL’s creative, music and fashion community, and so most have chosen to customise their rooms further.

The middle rooms go for 350L a week, and the corner ones for 450L, and there’s a small prim allowance to add furniture.

Every time I’ve visited, the place has been completely booked out, so you are best to put yourself on a list to be notified when a room comes free, which you can do by clicking on any of the rental boxes and choosing ‘notify me.’

Favourite parts

The bar and the pool.  Both are open to non residents, and so make for good hangout spots

What else you need to know

  • Lag is not too bad

  • Mother Road is adult

  • This being a Motel, the rooms are all next to each other, so if you are looking for Skybox style seclusion, this is not for you

Summary

Paul has done an excellent job here. The new Motel is detailed, realistic, and you can see why it’s very hard to get a room. Go and pay it a visit - SLURL
