The Empire Hotel ⭐️

Summary

The Empire Hotel is the centrepiece of Omerta City, a kind of noir themed town situated by a dock. The town itself is geared up for RP with lots of individual venues, while the Hotel contains a restaurant, bakery, nightclub and photo-studio.

Though it’s still very much work in progress, it’s imaginative and really well done. I found it a joy to explore and discover. Highly recommended and worth a visit.

Overall look and feel

If I were to describe the look and feel of the Empire Hotel, it would be quirky, eclectic but also high end. There are book shelves everywhere, different styles of art paintings, pre WW2 style advertising posters and lots of places to sit, lounge arond and watch people.

There are also quite a few parts to the Hotel. This includes Vitalis Restaurant, which you can book for RP dinners, or use self service, and the Tower of Records nightclub, inclusive of a games area.

Everything has a reddish hue to it, and it really works.

There are also bot-AVs around in various locations who will give you scripted replies. However, sometimes it seems that staff ‘inhabit’ these AVs, as the bartender bot was giving very natural answers when I was there.

I personally found the whole layout immersive - which is what I personally look for when visiting a Hotel.

Overall - 4.5/5

The rooms

Right now, there is only one room available, the Presidential Suite for 1850L. There are however other suites being built, so by the time you visit there may be more choice. The suite contains a main room with a dining room table, a smallish bedroom and a really great bathroom.

In terms of furniture, there is a clawfoot bath and shower, which seems to be mainly PG, Apple Falls living room and dining room items, and a DRD Scarlett Hotel Jayne Bed, which is adult.

I was told by owner Lux Voxel that it’s possible to have dinner service in the suite, and even to book musicians who will play for you. He also showed me a system by where staff will ring the doorbell and wait outside before they come in - just like in an RL Hotel.

Overall - 4 / 5

The facilities

These include:

Vitalis Restaurant. This can be booked for RP dinner. There’s also a private function room that can hold groups

Tower of Records, a nightclub, with regular events and an adjoining ‘Freak Show’ games area. This is decorated in the dark red that you find throughout the Hotel

A bakery / cake /ice cream shop

And a photo studio, complete with a changing pavillion, which can actually be a hang out spot as well

Finally, Lux told me that the Hotel will be providing voice guided meditation and hypnotherapy on request - something I must admit I have never tried before!

Overall - 4.5 / 5

Other considerations

When walking around the town, you get a notification asking you to join the town group for 50L. You don’t have to, but I think it’s reasonable to pay given the expense that must have gone into creating the town and Hotel. However, maybe there should be some limited rez rights associated with that.

Some furniture in the room is adult, the area as a whole is moderate

The suite comes with security that you can set

There was a bit of lag, as this is both a detailed and popular sim, but it is not too bad

Conclusion

The Empire Hotel is imaginatively done, well decorated and a lot of fun. I highly recommend coming to visit, and once more suites have been built, to stay.
