Wandering New York Unveiled: A Trio of Must-Visit Bars

Wandering New York is an immersive Manhattan-themed community sim curated with meticulous attention and owned by Kaiden and Pandora Tray.

This bustling hub boasts frequent live events and captivating art gallery exhibitions that beckon further exploration. This is a place where hours can easily drift away.

In her blog, Susann de Cuir, one of my go-to sources for destination tips, talked about the small details and the joy of discovery you find here. Her article is worth a look if you want to find out more about the destination in general (it’s in German, but Chrome will translate it for you).

On my part, I wanted to shine the spotlight on a trio of bars nestled within Wandering New York. These charming establishments offer ideal settings for rendezvous, romantic dates, or simply unwinding in style.

With the company of my friend and frequent collaborator, Kennedy, we set out to explore these hidden gems. My gratitude also extends to Wandering NY manager Molly (take a look at her excellent Flickr page) for her time pointing me towards all three venues.

Distort: A Modern Marvel in Graffiti's Embrace

Imagine finding yourself in a graffiti-strewn alleyway, and you've discovered Distort. This trendy two-level bar exudes a modern and pristine ambience across its expansive space. As I wandered, I couldn't help but notice the DJ booth on the ground floor, a possible sign of potential future club events.

What caught my eye, though, was the meticulously designed bar area showcasing the Scarlett Hotel / Bar Royal bar from DRD. In my opinion, it's one of the best bar designs in SL.

With outdoor tables, cosy seating areas by the walls, and an inviting upstairs section, Distort isn't just perfect for pre-dinner dates – it's a haven for friends to gather and make lasting memories.

The Black Cat Inn: A Shabby Chic Gem

Wandering New York also houses The Black Cat Inn, designed by Lux Voxel,  from the Empire Omerta. If you've ventured into the Empire Omerta before, you'll instantly recognise the distinctive atmosphere, particularly the antique shop / shabby chic allure.   There’s also a TP point to the Empire itself.

The Black Cat Inn is a spacious retreat boasting numerous alcoves and cosy seating areas. Already, it has witnessed live events, making it a delightful evening drinks spot or a tranquil afternoon escape.

The Bar With No Name: A Speakeasy Wonderland

Finally, my favourite is the mysterious underground bar, which is nameless but enchanting.

This clandestine speakeasy exudes an intimate, late-night charm that lets you linger into the small hours.  In Second Life, it's always 3 a.m. for someone, somewhere, and this hidden gem is the perfect place to lose track of time.

While I can't provide a direct SLURL, I recommend going on a quest to find it. Trust me; the journey is worth the discovery.

For those hungry for even more Wandering NY wonders, don't forget to explore their Facebook page.
